Cuckoo!

I'm all excited, I heard a Cuckoo this afternoon!
Memories come flooding back of my childhood , when we heard that naughty bird regularly.
Sadly, it's a rare sound in these parts now.

I've done some more pieces for the exhibition, this one is called 'The primroses scattered by April'.

I love your fabric picture - it is really magical. How wonderful to hear a cuckoo. I can't remember when I last heard one. As you say, it reminds us of our childhood. I wonder why we like to hear them so much when they have such nasty habits!

"In April I open my bill
In May I sing night and day
In June I change my tune
In July away I fly
In August away I must"

Heather -I was thinking about that but I guess it's because it means that summer is nearly here. . .x

Clare - thank you. The exhibition is by Group Purple Textile Artists, at the Weaver Gallery, Church Lane, Ledbury, Herefordshire. 20th to 26th. July.
I'd love you to come!x
Morna - Thank you.x

Keith - The Cuckoo comes in April,
He sings his song in May,
He lays his eggs in other birds nests,
In July he flies away. x

I too would love to hear a real cuckoo! I guess I didn't even know they really existed still. Love the fabric picture and your woods are too lovely to believe. Lucky you to get to walk there! - Jeanne
